Anger at police role in mental health crises after Walter Wallace Jr killing

Philadelphia mayor imposes curfew after second night of protests over killing of Black man said to be suffering mental breakdown

Protests continued in Philadelphia as more details emerged on Wednesday about the police killing of 27-year-old Walter Wallace after his family had called for medical assistance when he was having a mental health crisis.

Civil rights campaigners fiercely questioned the way police departments handle people suffering a mental health problem, not just in relation to the shooting of Wallace but across the US.
